Understanding that I, alone, decide my worth has been a pivotal point in my life. This was not a destination I had. It unfolded during my journey to understanding, me. For me, evolving is not only essential, it is inevitable. At times it is painful and I will never again allow it to be a source of shame. Learning and unlearning is not shameful; it is powerful.
It is a struggle to find a well-fitted T-shirt as a fat babe. I have one T-shirt that has a dope graphic on it. The fit and the material, sucks! Every time I wear it women always ask me “where did you get your t-shirt. I need that!”. I noticed that the majority of the women asking me were a smaller size. I had to tell them “sorry, this shirt does not come in your size” I always walked away from that conversation asking myself the same question. Why not? Why can’t I find a T-shirt that fits well with a dope graphic, that more body sizes can wear? I started researching clothing lines that carried inclusive sizes. (very few)...
